… and it’s a good start for the Hornets

Sunday the 21st of September saw the first round of fixtures in the Junior Development League for our U10 and U13 teams. All three teams were at home and overall it was a very successful afternoon.

The U10s narrowly lost to Gateshead but had a good win against Stockton and were awarded a walkover win against Redcar when they failed to show up. The U13A team managed wins against Gateshead and Whitley Bay & Tynemouth but their game against Morpeth ended as a draw. The result against Whitley Bay & Tynemouth was a particular highlight with the Hornets delivering a very impressive 5-1 win. Finally, the U13B team managed lost to Morpeth but beat Tynedale and were awarded a walkover win against the second Whitley Bay & Tynemouth team who also failed to turn up for the tournament. In place of that game the team played a guest Hornet team and it proved a tight game with the U13Bs coming out as narrow winners.

Taken together the results mean that the U10s lie third in their league and the U13As and U13Bs are currently second and fourth respectively in their league.

More details to follow.
