Durham City Hockey Festival 2025

Durham City Hockey Festival 2025

Tom Bulmer29 May - 18:00

What a weekend! This year’s Hockey Festival was one to remember and what a showcase of talent, spirit, and all-out fun it was!

The standard of hockey this year was absolutely top drawer. Every single team gave it 100% from the first whistle to the last, with so many matches going right down to the wire – flicks deciding some seriously tense games! You could feel the energy and determination on every pitch across the whole weekend.

Off the pitch, this year’s Best of British theme brought out some epic costumes, from British wildlife and St Trinians, to the 118 runners, Robin Hood, and more! The creativity and effort were next level. Special shoutout to RTD, who stole the show with their brilliant Harry Potter theme and took home the best costume award!

A huge congratulations to the Students, who won this year’s tournament in a thrilling final against last year’s champs, Tartan Army. It all came down to sudden death flicks – a nail-biting end to an incredible contest!

We also want to say a massive thank you to Jane and Miles for everything they’ve done over the years running the festival. This year marked their final time at the helm, and we’re so grateful for all their hard work and dedication. At the upcoming AGM, we’ll be looking for a new team to take on the organising role and continue their brilliant legacy.

Huge thank you to our sponsors Amaani Sports Bar & Food at Durham City Cricket Club and Red Bull for supplying us with some fantastic prizes over the weekend!!

And finally…. save the date! We’re already pencilled in for the last bank holiday weekend in May 2026. Bring on next year!
